So this is my first attempt at a Blog post. Interesting so far? ... NOT!
I will talk about mainly photography and my travels. I will back tract to the first of 2013 because I went to Bosque Del Apache with my sister to meet the Dallas Camera Club on a field trip. At that time my back was starting to give me real problems and during that trip I realized I was in trouble and HAD to see a doctor. Long story short, mid Feb I had back surgery to fix a herniated disk and recovery was slow. I was out of work 3 months and now in July doing much better.
So now I'm starting to resume my camera trips and next week I will be going to Galveston, Tx to fish on a 12 hour party boat with my son and another friend. That should be interesting! More next week.
REWIND: The second week of Jan my sister and I went on a ROAD TRIP heading to Bosque del Apache NM to see the wintering Sandhill Cranes. We started out wednesday morning going out I-20 and stopped in Cisco, Sweetwater, Snyder, and Lamesa. We were targeted to stop in a small town called O'Donnell on Hwy 87. Here there is a old gas station with the claim of being the last real full service station. owned by Maurice & Patsy Jackson for the last 45 years. Bob Phillips "Texas Country Reporter" TV show had done a story a few months previous, but I had a monthly magazine with the Jackson's story I wanted to get an autograph on. What is super weird, after talking to the Jackson, my sister's ex-husbands family was from there and they remembered the family. Anyway, they were wonderful, I got my autograph and on down the road we went.
